Accounting & Auditing Services

Jackson, Rolfes, Spurgeon & Co. provides its clients with a full range of accounting/auditing services. We perform full and limited scope financial audits, conduct reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedure examinations. We use our understanding of your business to design an effective and efficient audit process. The truth is accounting and auditing are more than number-crunching or reviews of financial history. It is an ongoing process that must be reassessed as your business grows and changes.

Full and Limited Scope Audits

Our audits of financial statements are in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards of the American Institute of Public Accountants (AICPA) and applicable federal, state, or local guidelines. We have significant experience in a wide range of industries, although family owned business in manufacturing, auto dealerships and construction are our specialty.

It is important to our clients in our approach to understand more than just the numbers. We go beyond the numbers, analyzing the operations and business decisions that underline the transactions reflected in the financial statements. This in-depth analysis provides us with information on our clients' operations, financial and accounting practices, and overall organization. This information provides us a basis to issue a letter to management, which gives recommendations for improving internal controls, streamlining accounting systems, and upgrading financial management policies and practices.

Reviews, Compilations, and Agreed-Upon Procedures

We also perform reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures. Although our audit requirements are generally less ins cope for these engagements, Jackson, Rolfes, Spurgeon & Co. still provides the level of service you deserve. Our goal is to provide management with the necessary information to effectively manage resources. We make it a practice to sit down with our client before the engagement to outline the complete scope and deliverables. An engagement letter is then issued outlining the fees, scopes, and deliverables so there are "no surprises" at the end of the engagement.

Internal Audit Outsourcing

The costs of maintaining an internal accounting department can be costly. Consequently, many companies are considering outsourcing their internal accounting functions. This can be accomplished through either dedicated or response oriented internal staff to perform ongoing internal audit services. Our staff will be able to assist you in designing an efficient, affordable internal audit plan. Internal audit outsourcing can also help you in lowering your year end audit fees.
